How does the thinking yogurt maker work?
The high heat storage capacity and low thermal conductivity of our granite ceramic are crucial to the way the Denk yoghurt maker works. Granicium® retains heat approx. 20 times longer than steel. The feet of the think yoghurt maker ensure that little heat is transferred to the base. Together with the warming cap, the milk cools down very slowly over several hours. This is ideal for making yoghurt.
How easy it is to make Denk yogurt
- Briefly heat up to 600 ml of milk to approx. 80°C. The temperature in the pot can be measured using the thermometer supplied.
- Then pour the milk into the yogurt maker and place the lid with thermometer on top.
- At room temperature (approx. 20°-22°C), the milk cools down to 45°- 42°C within approx. 1 hour.
- Now stir 3 tablespoons of fresh yoghurt with the longest possible best-before date or a pinch of dried yoghurt cultures into the milk using a whisk.
- Replace the lid (without the thermometer).
- Pull the knitted warming cap over it.
Now the fermentation process begins and the yoghurt bacteria get to work. The yoghurt maker should be left at room temperature (approx. 20°-22°C) for approx. 8 hours without being moved. The yoghurt is then ready to eat. You can then leave it to mature in the fridge for another 12 hours to develop the full yoghurt flavor.
To make the next yogurt, take three tablespoons of the fresh yogurt and keep it in the fridge. You can use it to make fresh yogurt again within three days.
