Two plug-in dividers made of natural, solid beech are included. This creates four storage areas in the storage pot. If a divider is placed individually in the pot, two larger areas can be partitioned off. The wood comes from Franconian forests and is PEFC-certified.
We supply a cover with a sewn-in elastic band made of high-quality Oberlausitz linen. This linen is characterized by rapid moisture absorption and rapid moisture release.
Storage
The storage pot is placed in the kitchen, pantry or cellar, protected from the sun and as cool as possible. It is intended for storing one to two weeks' supply. The plug-in beech wood shelves offer a choice of different partitions. Beech wood is very hard and is ideal for use in direct contact with food, so that carrots can rest undisturbed next to onions or potatoes.
Tip: ripening tomatoes in a storage pot
It is not easy to find good, ripe and aromatic tomatoes. One trick: add a ripe apple to the tomatoes in the pot. The apple releases the ripening gas ethylene into its surroundings. High humidity and warmth (approx. 20°) in the pot allow the tomatoes to ripen as if they were fresh from the garden.
Special CeraNatur®ceramic
We have developed a breathable version of our ceramic for the storage pot. This improves air circulation. At the same time, however, this ceramic is not waterproof. The color of the ceramic shimmers in beige-brown tones. Darker and lighter areas can alternate on the piece. Black speckles can also occur. These individual characteristics underline the natural production process and do not constitute grounds for complaint.
Cleaning
The storage pot can be cleaned with water, a brush and washing-up liquid. It should then be left to dry out in the air for approx. two days. The linen cover can be washed at 60° C in the washing machine. It is not suitable for tumble drying. The wooden dividers embedded with olive oil can be wiped with a damp cloth. To dry, they can be laid on their side on a flat surface or tucked into each other.
